Gender should not be a factor in determining whether or not a person is capable of being a great leader: leadership skills should depend on your individual strengths and personality traits. However, in many cases, women are not encouraged to take on these types of roles like their male counterparts, contributing to an imbalance over who is in power. In fact, only a handful of Fortune 500 companies are led by women compared to the number led by men. However, they are the ones who are just as qualified as them to lead, and sometimes more so.
